Hurricane Alex is wreaking havoc on the intensity of the ocean. So much so that the tide pool areas here in Laguna have been and will remain closed until at least Wednesday. And the waves…they’re at least seven to eight feet tall! The only ones brave enough to venture into the heavy surf today were accomplished surfers, who clustered together. In addition, there’s a severe slope to the beach, as tons of sand have been swept away from the strong current and unusually high tide.

That brings me to our trying to walk the beach today. Although my husband and I were successful on several occasions, our journey wasn’t without getting drenched by waves. And that was with walking at the very edge of the beach line (the farthest distance from the water), which was getting a regular soaking from the waves.

Despite it being overcast for the entire day with the air being heavy with ocean mist, almost to the point of drizzling, we had a great day. There’s just something about being at the beach that’s relaxing, therapeutic and oh, so relaxing.

Yup, dial me a happy camper who’s getting lots of work done as well as relaxing. As a treat, the photographs I’ve taken thus far while are currently being uploaded into new photo albums on this site.

BTW, I haven’t forgotten about uploading the 200+ photos I took over the holidays in Costa Rica. Due to problems I had with too much information being on this site, my Webmaster is creating a whole new blog site—still at this address—that once assembled, will allow an unlimited amount of images, blogs, information, etc. to be uploaded to it. As always, I appreciate your continued patience.
