A reoccurring theme that I hear is when people are down on themselves. How they allow one small miss-occurrence to snowball into a monstrous bad feeling that infects everything else they do.

Perhaps it’s personality type or being overachievers, but some, myself included, seem to be overly hard on themselves. When that happens, what might have been a positive outlook becomes clouded with negativity. That can hinder further endeavors.

When something goes wrong or not as expected, even if it’s in the public eye and has embarrassed you, don’t assign that one thing to be what defines you as an individual. Instead, try to brush it off and focus on your positive attributes.

Accidents happen, but they should not be what you use to define yourself or self-worth. Instead, think of your dignity, grace, kindness, humility and ability to get a job done. These are what define you…not accidents or the times you stumble.
