Personal growth doesn’t take place all at once in some magical leap.  Instead, it occurs through numerous shifts and changes, each no less significant than the last, yet each paramount to growth itself.  If a step is missed, growth may still occur, but its foundation may be weakened.  Likewise, the effort needed to achieve said growth may be too taxing.

I’ve found that plugging along with steadfastness and patience is the best way to achieve personal growth.  Doesn’t mean I always meet my mark.  I don’t.  But adopting a more focused mindset does tend to make success a likely result.

There are times when personal growth can only come about through adopting new attitudes aimed at bettering one’s situation.  The ability to be open-minded and receptive to these changes also helps one achieve their goals.

One thing’s for certain, if a person is unwilling to change, then personal growth will not take place.  Also, a negative attitude will block growth.  Additionally, setting unrealistic expectations will hinder one’s ability to grow, for frustration and disappointment will override success.

An effective way to bring about personal growth is to take baby steps, one after another, each well planned and executed.
