Coming into the twentieth century—only one behind, here’s Santa’s new form of transportation this year.  Frankly, the reindeer were becoming too costly to maintain, and…what with soaring gas prices, well…Santa figured an older VW bus might be a smarter choice than his flashier, vintage, flying sleigh.

LOL.
Actually, I came across this decorated vehicle while on my way to a girlfriend’s.  Rounding the corner into her parking area, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but this flashy visage, spreading joy and cheer.  The owner leaves it parked outside their garage with an extension chord that provides the necessary electricity needed to lighten spirits and bring a smile to those returning home to the apartment complex after a busy day.

I appreciate those who go the extra mile to make others smile.  Somehow make their day a little brighter.  As such I enjoyed stumbling upon this parked van and how it made me smile and laugh.  To me, the decorated van, complete with a stuffed Santa behind the wheel, reveals an owner who cares about others and has a wonderful sense of humor.  People like that, in my opinion, need to not only have their efforts appreciated but also honored.  I decided to stop and snap this photo so I could do just that—honor the creator of the scene.
