There are those who willingly give all that they have, never wanting or expecting reciprocation.  Others frown upon those whom they believe are beneath them, never taking the time to see the true essence of individuals they shun.

During the holidays, many make a concerted effort to reach out.  Think of someone other than him or herself.  Lighten the load of another out of sincere acts of generosity.  But then the holidays pass.  With them, some tend to forget.  When media and advertisers stop inundating folks with thoughts of giving, some individuals fail to think about others, allowing them to slip into their periphery.  Or worse, they again begin to frown upon those to whom they feel superior.

On the flip side, there are those who navigate life, intent on brightening the spirits of others…just…because.  It’s not that they know the individuals to whom they reach out, or that they feel any sense of obligation.  Instead, these special people spread positive energy wherever they go and make it a point to do something nice for total strangers each and every day.
What a great attitude to have.  To give so freely of one’s self—all the time.  Not just when reminded to do so through media and advertisers.
