Here’s a fairly heavy mentality.  “Though our culture puts great effort into it, we cannot usher in some sort of ‘new age’ by merely changing the terminology, any more than we would improve a worn-out, malfunctioning machine by dusting it off and putting new labels on it.  If we’ve been raised under a dubious set of beliefs rife with assumptions that wouldn’t stand up to the cruel logic of a three-year-old—which is pretty much the case—then any movement in the direction of real and constructive change would be immediately undermined by our continuing attempts to restore some Golden Age or ‘good old days’ that never existed by applying methodologies that never worked in the first place.”

So what does this mean?  Simply put, if a method, concept or reality has flaws that render it out of place, out of date or otherwise nonfunctional, then it’s time to take a closer look at it.  Dissect it, if necessary, down to its core and begin anew with fresh mentalities that allow it to fulfill the current needs.

Believing that something should work just because it served the purposes of past generations is a flawed mentality.  We cannot become so lax in our behaviors that we’re willing to blind ourselves to current realities while chanting the mantra, but it’s all gonna be okay, cause this worked in the past.

It is the responsibility of each and every person to remain actively present in their current reality, meaning they need to be flexible, creative and open enough to make changes where needed in order to fulfill their greatest purpose.
